Nationally, the National Association of Counsel for Children offers the Child Welfare Law Specialist certification, which is accredited by the American Bar Association. The process includes a self-directed course of study, peer recommendations, review of work product, and successful completion of an exam to demonstrate knowledge of applicable child welfare law and practice.
