BEST PRACTICES

When evaluating the quality of legal representation in your jurisdiction, it is important for a CIP to gather and assess data on five areas of best practices. Next, we will walk through each area in detail:

1.
HOLISTIC REPRESENTATION
2.
REGULAR CLIENT CONTACT
3.
OUT-OF-COURT ADVOCACY
4.
IN-COURT ADVOCACY
5.
APPELLATE ADVOCACY

During the discussion of each best practice, you will see suggestions of multiple possible areas of data to collect and assess. These recommendations are just that - recommendations. The CIP may choose to focus on some areas of data under each best practice, or determine additional areas of data to collect. The sections that follow are intended to give examples of what each best practice might look like and generate ideas of how to measure quality legal representation in each of those practices areas.
